Privacy statement

This statement explains what personal information Infinitech collects through this website, why, who else handles it, and how you can see or correct it. It is written to meet the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

Who we are

Infinitech is a software studio based in Auckland, New Zealand. For questions about privacy, or to make a request under the Privacy Act, email info@infinitech.co.nz.

What we collect

When you send an enquiry through the contact form, we collect your name, email address, phone number, company name if you give one, and the message you write. We collect only what you type into the form.

When you visit the site, we record anonymous visit statistics: which pages were viewed, the referring website, the country, and the type of device and browser. This is done without cookies and without collecting your IP address or anything that identifies you personally.

If you email us directly, we keep that email and any reply in the same way as an enquiry.

Why we collect it

We use enquiry details only to reply to you, including a one-off email confirming we received your enquiry, to discuss the work you asked about, and if we end up working together, to manage that project. We do not add you to a mailing list, sell your details, or use them for advertising.

We use the anonymous visit statistics to understand which pages are useful and how people find the site.

Who else handles it

A small number of service providers process information on our behalf, and only to provide their service to us:

Vercel hosts this website and provides the anonymous visit statistics. Resend delivers the emails sent by the contact form. Microsoft 365 hosts our email, so enquiries and replies are stored in our mailbox there.

These providers are based in, or store data in, the United States and other countries outside New Zealand. They are bound by contractual and legal privacy protections comparable to those in New Zealand law, as the Privacy Act requires for information sent overseas.

We will not otherwise share your information unless you ask us to, or the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted within two years. If we work together, project records are kept for as long as needed to support the work and meet tax and legal record-keeping obligations, which in New Zealand is generally seven years.

Keeping it safe

Your information is held in accounts protected by strong passwords and multi-factor sign-in, and is sent over encrypted connections. Access is limited to the people doing the work.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it or delete it. Email info@infinitech.co.nz and we will respond within 20 working days, as the Privacy Act requires.

If you are not satisfied with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.

Changes

If this statement changes, the new version will be published on this page with an updated date.
